English: This scheme is used to describe the calculation of the tension distribution in an elastic rope when swung around a bollard and loaded at one side. The contact region is divided into two sections: a stick zone and a slip zone. In the slip zone the rope is elongated with respect to the initial configuration and the rope particles have slid with respect to the bollard surface. |
