== Usage ==
This tag is for placement after purportedly [[Fact|factual]] statements that could be relevant, but are not [[Wikipedia:Citing sources|cited]] and are too general for a {{tl|Fact}} tag. Preferably the offending statement should be made more specific and then either cited or tagged for needing citation, but in some cases the best way to make the statement more specific may be unclear. Similarly, the statement should be deleted if determined to be unnecessary, but in some cases the outright deletion of the statement would be inappropriate or inflame [[Wikipedia:Controversial|controversy]].
 
This tag will categorize tagged articles into [[:Category:Wikipedia articles needing factual verification]]. This [[Wikipedia:Template|template]] is a [[Wikipedia:Avoid self-references|self-reference]] and is part of the [[Wikipedia:WikiProject|Wikipedia project]] rather than the [[Encyclopedia|encyclopedic]] content.
